Electro Standards Laboratories is avidly seeking enthusiastic Electrical and Computer Engineers to work within the company's Research and Development group. Projects include extending our capabilities of electronic motor technology, electric motor power systems, efficient battery systems, supercapacitor power systems, wave energy storage, and biotechnology.

The company also designs and manufactures innovative data communication products, such as copper and fiber optic network switches, interface converters, cable assemblies, as well as strain gauge instrumentation and CellMite force and LVDT intelligent digital signal conditioners.

Due to U.S. Department of Defense Government Contract work involved, US Citizenship is required for all our Engineering Positions.

FULL TIME POSITIONS:

ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

The Electrical Engineering Technician will be responsible for electrical engineering assistance with troubleshooting, testing and debugging of ESL's electronic products along with other electrical engineering project work.

Duties include development of prototype test setups involving mechanical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, parts selection, bill of materials, construction of setups, debugging of setups.

Applicant should have a background in Electrical Engineering. Experience with testing, debugging analog and digital circuitry to the component level is a plus!

US Citizenship is required due to US Government Contract work involved.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • 2 or 4 year Degree Program
  • Skills: Familiarity with, and understanding of Firmware and Software Programming.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Research, design, and development of electrical embedded controls for electric motors, hybrid battery/capacitor energy systems, communication products and precision instrumentation. Applications include innovative communication & instrumentation products, motor controls, and power inverters.

  • US Citizenship is required due to US DoD contract work involved.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop embedded hardware and firmware programming.
  • Design digital/analog hardware, CPLD programmable logic, firmware programming with application to embedded controls for electric motors, hybrid battery and capacitor energy systems and precision instrumentation.
  • Assess and modify existing product lines and control applications.
  • Research and document results and modifications.
  • Track project timelines to complete tasks on schedule.
  • Ensure reliable and high-quality systems are designed.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with background in electric induction motor control design and controls, Simulink and Matlab simulation tools, power electronics system, and DSP bases systems.
  • Experience with CPLD programmable logic, firmware programming with application to embedded controls, microprocessors, C Code, control systems, and power electronics.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMER/ENGINEER - EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

Seeking a Computer Programmer with an electrical engineering background for software and firmware programming of embedded systems. You will be designing and testing embedded firmware programs and Windows Desktop GUI programs for electric motors, hybrid battery/capacitor energy systems, communications products and precision instrumentation.

US Citizenship is required due to US Department of Defense requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design embedded software to assist with control systems automation
  • Embedded Firmware and GUI programming using primarily C-Coding for development with application to embedded controls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any code issues.
  • Document all programming tasks and procedures

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship Required.
  • Bachelor of Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with Embedded Firmware development and Windows Desktop GUI development.
  • Experience with C/C for embedded microprocessor programming.
  • Knowledge of Java Applets running on Lantronix XPort/XPort Pro Webserver, and Python for embedded software.
  • Experience with C/C /C# , Java, Python 2.3, LabWindows CVI for Windows Desktop Software Development.

POWER ELECTRONICS ENGINEER
Requirements: BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering. US Citizenship Required
•Experience with power electronics, motor controls, switching converters, embedded programming.
•Familiarity with Simulink and Matlab
Duties Include: Power electronics hardware and firmware development. Applications include induction, switched reluctance, and permanent magnet motor controls and electronics, switching power converters, renewable energy, and hybrid energy systems.


PROGRAM MANAGER
•Seeking Program Manager who is experienced with defense programs, implementing military specifications, documentation and reporting requirements.
•Responsibilities will include: planning, scheduling, costing and monitoring of electrical engineering programs.
•Experience with Microsoft Project, Office and Earned Value Management.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

US Citizenship required due to US Dept. of Defense contract work involved.
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a bachelor degree.  Extensive knowledge of Solidworks and practical experience is a must. 3D printer experience, helpful.  

Duties include: 

  • Designing electronic product enclosures
  • Programming CNC machinery
  • Programming 3D printer 
  • Designing ruggedized enclosures and state of the art prototype test platforms
  • Developing and maintaining engineering documentation. 

Requirements include: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Extensive Solidworks software experience
  • Experience with Solidworks Simulation software a plus!
  • Experience programming 3D printer 
  • Experience analyzing vibration, thermal analysis, and other environmental conditions
