Model 7380 DB9 Normal / Crossover Switch with RS232 Serial Remote Port

Designed for switching between data sources to either of two destinations.

Just push the button and go from "STRAIGHT CONNECTION" to "EXCHANGE CONNECTION".
SPECIFICATIONS:
- PORT CONNECTORS: (4) DB9 port connectors labeled A, B, C, and D on rear panel.
- CONTROL: (1) Front-panel pushbutton allows local selection of switch position, "NORMAL" or "CROSSOVER".
- DISPLAY: (2) LED's on front panel indicate switch position and power status.
- REMOTE CONTROL: (1) DB9 female connector on rear panel accepts ASCII RS232 Serial Data for Remote Control Operation.
- POWER: UL Approved 100VAC-240VAC, 50Hz-60Hz wall mount power module supplies 12VDC to 500mA to the unit. Has 2-prong, US non-polarized plug.

FEATURES:
- Switch allows selection between NORMAL and CROSSOVER position.
- Front Panel LED's display switch position and power status.
- Six pins of the DB9 interface used for the A, B, C, and D ports are custom wired for noise cancelling with pairing as follows:
- DB9 pin 1 & pin 6
- DB9 pin 3 & pin 8
- DB9 pin 5 & pin 9
- Chassis GRD to pin 4 bussed through
- DB9 ports wired straight through: 1-to-1, 2-to-2, thru 9-to-9
- The switch ports are transparent to all data.
- In NORMAL position, Port A is connected to Port C, Port B is connected to Port D (A>C and B>D).
- In CROSSOVER position, Port A is connected to Port D, Port B is connected to Port C (A>D and B>C).
- Select either locally via front panel pushbutton or remotely via RS232 Serial ASCII commands to the DB9 Remote on the rear panel.
- Shielding of electromechanical relays.
- Switch maintains position during power loss and continues to pass data.
- Switch powers up in the last known position.
The PathWay® Model 7380 DB9 Crossover Switch with Serial Remote supports connections between four devices, connected to the A, B, C, and D ports in either a "Normal" or "Crossover" configuration. The Model 7380 may be controlled manually via a front panel pushbutton or remotely from an RS232 Serial Remote port located on the rear of the unit.
Switch position status may be attained via the front panel LED display or the DB9 Remote RS232 port located on the rear of the unit.
The Model 7380 is enclosed in a 1U, full rack size, all metal, black chassis designed to provide EMI/RFI shielding and fit in a standard 19" rack.
OPTION: WIDE RANGE POWER MODULE
(Cat No 517277) CE, RoHS, and UL listed table mount power module, 100 VAC - 240 VAC, 50Hz/60Hz for use in place of standard power module that is included with the unit. Has IEC 60320 C14 inlet. Ideal for international applications.
