June 8, 2011

For Immediate Release

PathWay 4135 Single Channel DB9 A/B Switch with Remote Control Port

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new Model 4135 Single Channel DB9 A/B Switch. The Model 4135 allows sharing a DB9 device connected to the COMMON port connector among two other devices connected to the A and B ports. The Model 4135 switches all 9 pins of the DB9 interface and is applicable to any DB9 interface devices.

The switch may be controlled locally via pushbutton. The Remote port accepts either TTL signaling or contact closure switch commands for Remote Control operation. The Remote port overrides pushbutton activity. An optional remote toggle switch control cable is available for the Model 4135. The cable has a compatible connector to the Remote Port of the Model 4135 on one end and a toggle switch with waterproof mounting boot on the other end.

Front Panel LED display indicates switch position and unit power status. The switched set of ports, A, B, and COMMON are transparent to all data. The Model 4135 retains the current switch position and maintains continuity through the switch even if power is removed or a power failure occurs. A wide range power supply is available for the unit making it ideal for international applications.
