Control Model 6268 2-Channel Fiber ABC Switch via Pushbutton, Remote Port, and Remote Cable
Control Model 6268 2-Channel Fiber ABC Switch via Pushbutton, Remote Port, and Remote Cable
October 17, 2013
For Immediate Release
Electro Standards
Laboratories, Cranston, RI, announces the Model 6268 dual-channel SC
duplex fiber optic A/B/C switch with contact closure remote control. This
network switch allows the user the capability of sharing a single port
interface device connected to the COMMON port among three other devices
connected to the A, B, and C ports for each channel. The Model 6268 can be
controlled via three methods: front panel pushbutton, dry contact logic via the
remote port, or via a remote cable.
The switch was designed in a
slim rackmount configuration. The dimensions are 19” W x 1.75” H x 10” D (48.3
x 4.9 x 25.4 cm). The weight is approximately 5.7 lbs (2.6 kg).
The standard power module
supplied with the unit is UL approved and supports 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz.
This wall-mount power module supplies 12VDC, 500mA to the switch. The module
features a 2-prong, US, non-polarized plug.
This switch is ideally suited
for international applications with its optional Wide Range Power Module,
Catalog No. 517277. This module is CE, RoHS and UL listed and is configured in
a wall-mount design. It supports 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz and has an IEC 60320
C14 inlet.
The switch ports are
transparent to all data. The port connectors include: (8) SC duplex connectors
labeled A, B, C and COMMON for each of the two channels. The front panel
controls include (6) manual pushbuttons, (3) for each channel, that allow local
switching. The front panel display includes (6) LED’s for switch position and
power status. For remote control (1) DB9 female connector on the rear panel
accepts contact closure switch commands.
Its MEMS-based mirror/prism
technology supports Gagabit data rates. The Model 6268 features independent
control of each channel with gang controls. The switch maintains position on
power loss and continues to pass data. Front panel LED’s display the present
position and power status. All A, B, C and COM ports are SC duplex, multimode,
50/125 micron, and support a wavelength of 850nm.
