Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, now offers Fiber 232® Models 4137EU & 4139EU with 2-pin European power supplies. These HP VersaLink Fiber to RS232 Converters are used to connect fiber optic linked terminals to a controller having an RS-232 interface port.   Great for international lottery or casino type network applications!

While RS-232 is a versatile communication standard, conversion to a fiber optic communication standard also allows data transmission that is no longer susceptible to electrostatic or electromagnetic fields. Additionally, the ports of the connected terminals are protected from damage by potential differences (ground variatons) that often exist between them.

HP Fiber to RS232 Converters convert RS-232 Serial Communication Interface to HP Versatile Link Plastic Core Cable providing full galvanic isolation (no metallic connection) between connected devices.  This allows the interference-free fiber optical transfer of data to be utilized by the device having an RS-232 interface. Featuring a data transfer rate up to 120 Kbps (enhanced RS232).  Model 4137EU utilizes an RJ45 connector and Model 4139EU has a DB9 connector for RS232 connection.
