M8110 DB9 A/B Switch with Enhanced Temperature Range and Built-in Conversion to RS422/485

May 2, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new Model 8110 DB9 Interface A/B Data Switch designed to withstand the extreme temperature range of -17° Celsius to +75° Celsius (1.4° F to 167°F). This rugged switch has an all-aluminum enclosure to add durability and to provide superior shielding. This high-quality switch has self-wiping contacts.

The Model 8110 manual A/B switch connects the common COM port to either Port B as a pass through connection, or to Port A which accepts RS232 signals in from the COM Port and converts them to RS422/485. Pins 1-9 from the DB9/Female port on the rear panel COM connector are passed through to Port B when the rotary switch is in the B position. Transmit and Receive RS-232 data signals from the COM port are converted internally in the unit and switched to Port A when the rotary switch is in the A position. Power for the conversion circuitry is drawn from the connected devices.  For details, click here: http://www.electrostandards.com/ProductDetail/?productid=136
