Model 7185 DB15 8-to-1 Switch with RS232 Remote Control

Electro Standards Laboratories adds the Model 7185 Single Channel DB15 8-to-1 Switch with Exclusive RS232 Remote Control to their product line-up.  The Model 7185 allows eight DB15 devices to be shared by one COMMON device or computer with control of the switch from a remote location via ASCII commands. 

The Model 7185 has no front panel pushbutton/local control and designed to support “remote control only” applications, adding a layer of security for the network. All 15 pins of the DB15 interface are switched via break-before-make electromechanical relays. The switch ports are transparent to all data.

The remote RS232 ASCII commands for the Model 7185 allow the user to control switch position, obtain switch status, query firmware version number and query serial number.  Front panel LED’s display the present position and power status.  The unit maintains last set position on power loss and continues to pass data.
