Model 7300 RS232/RS530 A/B Switch Automatically Switches to Backup via Data Activity or DCD Trigger Monitor

December 13, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Model 7300 RS232/RS530 A/B Switch Automatically Switches to Backup via Data Activity or DCD Trigger Monitor

Electro Standards introduces PathWay® Model 7300 Single Channel RS232/RS530 A/B Switch with Fallback & Remote Control Port.  This Rackmount Switch allows the sharing of a single device among two other devices connected to the A and B ports.  When in manual mode, the front panel pushbutton allows alternate action A/B switching.  When in automatic fallback mode the unit switches to backup automatically via Data Activity or DCD Trigger monitor and switches back when signals restore.  The user can also override automatic fallback operation from the front panel or remote port and force the unit to operate as an A/B Switch.

The DB15 remote port of the Model 7300 accepts contact closure signals from a Model 4077 or other similar device to remotely attain switch position status or remotely control the switch position and mode. Pins 2-6, 8-25 of the DB25 are switched via break-before-make electromechanical relays. Pins 1 (protective ground) and 7 (signal ground) of all ports are tied together.  All switched signals are passed via latching copper contact relays that maintain their position and continuity even in the event of a power loss or failure.  When power is restored, the unit loads previous position and mode of operation checking DIP switch setting and remote port to determine the correct startup configuration.

A CE and UL listed table mount Wide Range Power Supply option with 100 VAC/240 VAC, 50Hz/60Hz and IEC 60320 C14 inlet is available in place of standard power module to support international applications (Cat No 517277).
