New Model 4175 Fiber Converter for RS485 to Fiber Multi-Point Applications and Communications to Remote Sites

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, announces the new Model 4175 ST Duplex Fiber-to-Multi-Point RS485/422 Interface Converter.  This very high speed, ruggedized interface converter has typical operating speeds up to 5 Mbps for RS485/422 to fiber conversion, providing an industrial solution for applications requiring a single point-to-point or a multi-point communications link over short and long distances.

The Model 4175 RS485/422 Converter is a member of Electro Standards Laboratories rugged community of media converters and is designed to operate from - 40°C to 85°C, featuring 3kVDC isolation to prevent system group loops.  Other features include user selectable fiber polarity, and TX, RX and Power indicator LEDs.  Typical applications for the M4175 are PC to PC long distance communications, factory automation, multi-drop data collection devices, barcode readers, time clocks, scales, data entry terminals, ATMs and serial communications in harsh environments.
