June 2, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new QuickSwitch Model 4189 4-Way Fiber Optic Switch/Converter. The Model 4189 allows user access to any one of four separate fiber optic networks via ports A/B/C/D, from a computer connected to the COMMON 100 BASE TX port. Ports A and B are 850 nm, 10 Mbps, dual ST multimode fiber optic ports, and C and D are 1300 nm, 100 Mbps, SC duplex multimode fiber optic ports. Other configurations are available. Based upon the selected port, A and B at 10 Mbps, or C and D at 100 Mbps, the common port will automatically convert to the proper 10-Base-T or 100-Base-T speed.

This easy-to-use QuickSwitch is controlled via a front-panel pushbutton. Simply depress and hold the pushbutton while the LED indicators scroll to the desired port, then release. The QuickSwitch Model 4189 A/B/C/D Switch retains the current switch position in memory; and in the event of a power loss, the switch will be in the retained position upon restart. Remote management of the switching function is available through an RS232 serial port on the rear panel.  For details, click below: http://www.electrostandards.com/ProductDetail/?productid=127
