Shipping Terms

Shipments are made via UPS Ground, unless otherwise specified. Freight charges are prepaid and added to your invoice. We can estimate the freight costs for you.

We can ship freight collect on your account, just provide your UPS Account Number.

We can also ship via the carrier of your choice. Provide the details and your account number.

Products shall be shipped F.O.B. Electro Standards' facility. Title to and risk of loss or damage to the products shall pass to you upon Electro Standards delivery of the products to a carrier for shipment. Title to software will remain with the applicable licensor. Electro Standards' prices do not include shipping and handling charges. Electro Standards reserves the right to use its own discretion in the manner and routing of shipments. Electro Standards shall be permitted to deliver products in separate lots.

Shipping Return Policy

To return an item, contact Electro Standards at 401-943-1164 to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. RMA numbers are valid for 30 days after the date of the shipment and cannot be extended or re-issued. We are unable to accept returns without an RMA number.
All returns except those of defective product are subject to a 15% restocking fee, and additional charges for handling or freight are refunded only in cases of defective products.
Return freight must be shipped prepaid. We recommend that you insure the package as you are responsible for risk of loss on all returned packages. We recommend that all cartons are properly packed as Electro Standards is not responsible for product damaged en route. We do not issue call tags for product returns.
Returned product must be clean, undamaged, and complete with all manuals, accessories, documents and packaging. The items must be in a resalable condition.
The product must have with it a copy of the original invoice or packing slip and the appropriate RMA paperwork.
If your item is not working properly, please contact Electro Standards at 401-943-1164 for help in trouble-shooting your application.
If the product is defective, Electro Standards will repair or replace that item (at our discretion) upon receipt and evaluation of the original product.
Electro Standards reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days from the invoice date in some cases. If the product is accepted after 30 days, credit will be issued toward future pruchases only and some additional restocking charges may be applied.
All credits from RMAs must be used within one calendar year of issue.

Model 4662 High Speed Fiber-to-USB Converter/Extender, Host, DIN Rail Mounted

Simultaneously connect four USB Interface Devices to your desktop PC or notebook.
High speed connection to distant USB devices over multimode fiber optic cable.

The desktop Model 4662-DIN is a USB Powered Host that works with desktop Model 5169-DIN 4-Port USB Hub (also see related products tab for M5169-DIN details) to comprise a USB Powered Host and a Four Port USB Wired Hub that extend USB connections up to 500 meters via a high speed Fiber interface.

Two configurations are available for each model

Model 4662 Host Desktop Unit, for applications requiring an enclosure. (USB Powered)
Model 4662-DIN Host Unit for applications requiring mounting on a DIN rail. (USB Powered)
Model 5169 4-Port USB Hub Desktop Unit, for applications requiring an enclosure. (w/external power supply)

FEATURES:

Convert USB 2.0 compliant data from a standard PC Host interface, Model 4662, over fiber to a remote 4-port powered USB Hub, Model 5169.
Ideal for applications involving PC communication that require high speed, secure communication, and optical isolation.
Extend USB communication in environments that are subject to high EM or RF interference that might corrupt communication over a copper interface.
Typical applications include industrial control, KVM extension, remote desktop USB connections, and remote USB device sharing such as printers, scanners and storage devices.
Units offer true plug and play operability with support for Windows®, Mac OS®, Linux®, and support all USB device types: Control, Interrupt, Bulk and Isochronous up to 480 Mbps.
Designed to operate from -0 degree C to 50 degree C (component ratings meet or exceed 0° C to 70° C).
Units feature ESD protection circuitry on all copper USB I/O interfaces.
Power inputs are protected from transients and the 4-Port USB Hub provides the USB standard of 500mA per port.
LED display Power, Fiber Link Active, Host Active (Model 4662, 4662-DIN) and Port Active (Model 5169, 5169-DIN) indicator LED's.

Power Connector: On Models 5169 and 5169-DIN, the input power connector is a DC power jack (Circular Barrel Type).

External Power Supply
An external power supply is not included with either the Model 4662 or the Model 4662-DIN Host units since they are USB-Powered. The Model 5169 and the 5169-DIN USB Hub units include a wide range UL and CE approved 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz table mount power module. Ideal for international application.
